On March 1st we had our 8th BLIZ Workshop. We listened to updates from the subprojects discussed this year’s meetings and the BLIZ Summerschool in July. In the discussion groups further collaborations between the subprojects were started and existing collaborations were deepened.

On Thursday, Jan. 14th, the Seminar Waldbau, Ökosystemdynamik und Forstplanung takes place (15:00 – 17:00) via webex. The BLIZ PhD-candidate Sebastian Rössert will present results on land-use modelling on Bavarian agricultural farms.Write me an email (mona.reiss@tum.de) to join the seminar!

In their talk, the authors address the sensitivities and uncertainties of a vegetation model (LPJ-GUESS) within Europe. We held our 7th BLIZ Workshop via Zoom on October 19th. We listened to updates of our subprojects, reflected the milestones 2020 and viewed the milestones for 2021. Furthermore, we discussed our joint paper project.

From Oct 5th to Oct 7th BLIZ organises a virtual conference “How to predict future land use and biodiversity change under climatic change at the regional level” in cooperation with bayklif. We can expect exciting contributions from international speakers and workshops.

In an interdisciplinary course of the Center for Computational and Theoretical Biology Subproject 2 and the Games Engineering group developed a computer game on aquatic plants at the Institute for Computer Science at the Julius-Maximilians-University of Würzburg.
